Questions fréquemment posées

Are zinc hinges suitable for outdoor use?

Zinc alloy hinges with appropriate surface treatment (nickel plating or powder coat) perform well in sheltered outdoor environments. For fully exposed or marine applications, stainless steel hinges are recommended.

What zinc alloy grade do you use?

Our standard zinc hinges use Zamak 3 or Zamak 5 alloy, depending on the strength and surface finish requirements of the application.

What load ratings are available for zinc alloy hinges?

Zinc alloy hinges are suited to light-to-medium duty applications. For door weights over 15 kg per hinge, we recommend transitioning to stainless steel or heavy-duty steel hinges.
